There are many different types and ways to enjoy cruising the world. I'm sure there are hundreds of cruising tips at your fingertips - aka the internet. Go ahead and stop searching now because, here are 10 top tips that will help if you're new to cruising - and even if you're a pro! You never know when you might learn something new.

DO:

Pack a carry-on with a change of clothes for your first day onboard the ship so you don't have to wait for your luggage to arrive. Consider including your swimsuit so you can head straight to the pool if your cruise is in warmer weather.

DON'T:

Don’t fear the days at sea when you’re not in port—these are some of the best days of all.

DO:

Do get ready to relax and unplug; it’s guaranteed when you sail.

DO:

Get the balcony! You'll feel like you have double the space and it's a nice quiet retreat from everything else happening on the ship.

DON'T:

Skip out on the excursions and miss the opportunity to explore a new destination!

DO:

Arrive in the port city a day before your cruise departs. That way if you have any delays while traveling there, you won't miss your cruise embarkment!

DO:

Bring your own drinks onboard the ship. Many cruise lines allow you to bring two bottles of wine or Champagne, or 6-12 beers when boarding. Just check with your specific cruise line to see what's allowed!

DON'T:

Forget to keep your phone in airplane mode. Otherwise, you could end up with some pretty hefty data roaming charges. Most cruise lines have Wi-Fi onboard and some even provide it for free.

DON'T:

Book a room near the elevator or other potentially noisy areas of the ship. Typically mid-ship will be the quietest, plus you're closer to all ship venues you may want to visit.

DO:

Work with a travel agent. We can get you extra perks and special rates that you may not know about. Just ask!
